The first trimester of pregnancy creates many new sensations. A pregnant woman may experience a range of physical symptoms. Cramping is often a symptom experienced during the first trimester. An ectopic pregnancy, sometimes called a tubal pregnancy, occurs when the fertilized egg implants in the fallopian tubes instead of the uterus. This type of pregnancy presents an immediate health risk to the mother. An ectopic pregnancy may be identified by severe and localized pain, bleeding and tenderness by the fallopian tube. Call your doctor immediately at the first sign of these complications to determine if an ectopic pregnancy is the cause.
The muscles in your abdomen will benefit from proper nutrition and hydration. Taking care of your body may help prevent these muscles from cramping.
