Homemade Hair Removal Productsby Candace Webb
Unsightly hair can make a person feel unattractive, even in a brand new outfit. In the interest of good health and eco-friendliness, however, many people do not want to use harsh chemicals to get rid of the hair that appears on faces, legs, backs or other body areas. There are several homemade, non-chemical products you can make to remove unwanted hair.
Egg Whites and Sugar
If you blend the white of one egg with a tablespoon of white sugar and add 1/2 tablespoon of corn flour, you will end up with a sticky, pasty mixture. This mixture can be applied to the area of your body that has unwanted hair. Once it dries, you can peel it off, and it will bring the hair with it, including the hair follicles.
There is a process called sugaring that is reputed to be an excellent hair removal system. It is slightly painful to implement, but many are pleased with the results and believe it is worth the discomfort. In a small bowl, combine a cup of sugar with the juice of half a lemon. Slowly pour in 1/4 cup honey and blend well. Place in microwave and heat on high for 2 to 3 minutes. If you have some molasses, a small bit of it--no more than a drizzle--can be added and stirred.
Cover the area that contains unwanted hair with cornstarch and then, using a spatula or ice cream stick, spread the mixture over the skin. Place a strip of cotton fabric on it and press it down. Then rip it off by grabbing one corner of the fabric and pull straight up.
Facial Hair Treatment
Milk and turmeric powder combined and applied to the area of your face that contains unwanted facial hair can remove the hair without using harsh chemicals. Once you apply the mixture, scrub it off by using your fingers in a circular motion.
After you have scrubbed off the hair, you should then wash the area with cold water.
