Hairstyles With a Bang & Ponytail Piece

by Pamela Simmons

A ponytail is a no-muss, no-fuss hairstyle that's ideal for any mom on the go. This pulled-back style can be incredibly chic -- all you need to do is get creative. What's more, ponytails aren't just for long-haired ladies. A hairpiece adds length and gorgeous thickness. Add a bang to the equation and you have a look that's just as fashionable as it is functional.

Add a little volume to your look. Wear your bangs brushed forward and slightly bent under. Tease the hair at the crown of the head before pulling your hair back and putting on your ponytail piece. Keep your ponytail sleek and straight to keep this retro look clean and elegant. This spirited style is ideal for a girls' night out.

A flirty ponytail worn high on the head breathes life into any look. Wear your bangs brushed forward or swept to the side. Brush the rest of your hair up to the crown of the head, twist this hair into a bun and secure with elastic. Wrap your ponytail extension around the base of your bun to create length, and your bouncy, high ponytail is ready to go.

Simply pulling your ponytail to the side can completely change your look. To keep your look more natural, clip in hair extensions first. Then, sweep your hair into a loose side ponytail. Keep it straight or make it glam by adding a few curls. If you'd rather have a more structured side ponytail, pull hair back and to the side, just as you would for your high ponytail. Wrap your ponytail extension around your base to finish things off. This look is just as chic during the day as it is at night.

You can wear a simple chignon to work and out to dinner afterward. Wear your bun on either side of your head or in the center, depending on your preference. Sweep your bangs to the side for a more elegant look, or brush them forward for an edgier style. Twist your actual hair into a bun and top it with your extensions. Buy your hair piece in bun form already and simply clip it over your natural bun. Or, after attaching your ponytail extension, wrap and bobby pin it into a bun shape.
